⦁ Monique Jenkins-- The "ex-wife" of Thadeus Jenkins, "tj".. Monique and Thadeus met in paris before the start of WW1.  She was on a perpetual quest to collect financial support from him.. She was always threatening to make TJ sell his Bar in order to satisfy back "SPOUSAL support". She only takes the matter so far but never all the way. She enjoys not having to pay for her drinks. It is widely believed that Monique knows more about TJ's sudden disappearance 25 years ago. Everyone wants to know if TJ took the secret (Ladee Joose) elixir recipe to his assumed grave, or did he turn it over to Monique's estranged and reclusive father (Jooles devereaux). tj and jooles developed a very close and confidential relationship during tj's childhood.. Jooles arranged the marriage between his daughter "monique" and "tj".. and that entitled tj to a special "dowry".. Jooles devereaux was secretly married to (matilda faraux) a stounch advocate of the "Temperance movement", and a pledged "teetotaler" in the mid 19th century.. she was a self taught chemist and biologist from books her mother stole from a wealthy plantation owner of a family known as the "chemical engineers from france", that imigrated to america and became one of the richest families in the history of the usa of their time. matilda developed an certain disdain for alcohol and the moral defying effects it had on people.. Particular, men in small towns with very little connection to civil law or respect for women. and during her studies one night by candle light, she saw a chemecal combination that rendered a very unusual "recipe" that "mimicked" the exact same effects as human consumable alcoholic spirits, but only in their minds.. the special ingredients take control of a particular section of the brain that over-rides the dopemine secretions and replace with a pleasure signals stong enough to make the consumer feel like they can travel back in time before they started drinking, and never develop a taste or craving for any kind of alcoholic spirits.. a beverage that would enable people to control their desires for intoxicating spirits and eventually restoring their youthfull health.. but over the years, and a few miscalculations of the special ingrediants while mixing new batches, the "elixir" became altered, and as a result some of the intened effects have been extremely enhanced. monique may have to reveal her true identity, and put her century old mission to stop people from getting drunk in jeopordy, because she must find away to reach her father in the past, to help her correct the "recipe".. no one can explain why monique is able to communicate with jooles, when he would be over 100 years old now.. and over the years the formula invented by her mother has had many names and the ingredients have been altered so much, that the effects are not what Matilda's formula was intened for.. no one knows who decided to call this strange beverage that enables people to travel in time, "ladee joose"! monique has been the sole supplier of this exclusive underground cocktail beverage loved by the locals that frequent Sophia's lounge.. only the customers that know what to ask for by name can order it. no one ever remembers the last time they had a drink of it, but they always order it when they are at the lounge.. monique has never told sophia the whole truth about "ladee jooze" and what it does to her customers when they drink it.
