It is widely believed that Monique knows more about TJ's sudden disappearance 25 years ago. Everyone wants to know if TJ took the secret (Ladee Joose) elixir recipe' to his presumed grave, or did he turn it over to Monique's estranged and reclusive father (Jooles) devereaux. tj and jooles developed a very close and confidential relationship over a long period of time.. Jooles arranged the marriage between his daughter "monique" and "tj" and that entitled tj to a special "dowry".. Jooles devereaux was secretly married to (matilda faraux) a stounch advocate of the "Temperance movement", and a pledged "teetotaler" in the mid 19th century.. she was a self taught chemist and biologist from books her mother stole from a wealthy plantation owner from a family known as the chemical engineers from france, that imigrated to america and became one of the richest families in the history of the usa. matilda decided to invent a beverage that would make people control their desires for intoxicating spirits and eventually restoring their youthfull health.. but over the years, no one can explain why monique is able to communicate with jooles, when he would be over 100 years old now.. and over the years the formula invented by her mother has had many names and the ingredients have been altered so much, that the effects are not what Matilda's formula was intened for.. no one knows who decided to call this strange beverage that enables people to travel in time, "ladee joose"! monique has been the sole supplier of this exclusive underground cocktail beverage loved by the locals that frequent Sophia's lounge.. only the customers that know what to ask for by name can order it. no one ever remembers the last time they had a drink of it, but they always order it when they are at the lounge. monique has never told sophia the whole truth about "ladee jooze" and what it does to her customers when they drink it.
