Her daughter was abducted by Weslee Nelson's people that mistakenly kidnapped her thinking she was another child. Carmen is not without her own street resources, but she knows she can count on one person that could help her if she just asks.. Carmen is the only woman that "ethan Tortelle" ever trusted with his most incriminating secrets. She knows where ethan hides his illicit proceeds, she knows the names of all his clients of prostitution, gambling, "bootleg" spirits and illegal narcotics.. but carmen has an abundance of integrity and loyalty, and a certain disdain for law enforcement and authority.                  if ethan ever had the slightest hint of carmen turning him in to the authorities, he would stop at nothing to silence her.
